Well, considering that if everybody was thinking that way they would be in even more trouble. So, buy your ticket if you'd like them to survive. And even if the worst happens, other airlines might honor your ticket.

I disagree with the earlier repliers.... I truly think that the risk of UA (and Ted) not operating in July is significant. I wouldn't bet money on them continuing to operate in July. Book on some other carrier... try WN if they fly your route..... WN is profitable and will be flying in July GUARENTEED.

No Southwest will not be able to fly the route because they do not run a direct flight from TPA-SFO in that case i would even go for oakland but i dont think they offer that flight anymore

As bad of shape UA is in right now, and as much fun as it appears to be predicting the demise of an airline...

No one can accurately predict when/if UA will collapse. I know it's asking alot...but can we stop trying to pick D-Day for UA?? Let it happen when/if it happens.

If you want then survive, but go on another carrier out of fear, then you're only hurting UA further by flying the competition. Use a credit card for added protection.

Well I support UA and believe that they will survive. I already booked and paid for domestic tickets in November and December. Yes, on a credit card.

You don't know what you're talking about.

And use spell check the next time you post.

If you are flying in the future and you have since paid off the balance then you have to try and get your credit card company to refund the money.

Even if UA is doomed, they will still be flying in July. No creditor would want to pull the plug on an airline during their busy season, with big numbers predicted for the Trans-Pacific flights.

Buy it. They just took a gigantic leap forward on Tuesday, and the chance that it falls through is less than 1% at this point.

Again, buy with a credit card, and you'll be fine.

Thanks for choosing the Friendly Skies and TED!

Even if you dont purchase a ticket with a credit card, your still okay. Per federal regulations since 2004, if you have a ticket for travel on a part 121 SCHEDULED carrier, then all other scheduled 121 carriers must accept the ticket at face value for at least standby travel. I wouldn't sweat it, by the ticket, credit card or not.

Go ahead and by your ticket. If something happens to them, other airlines are under no obligation, but usually do provide return or onward transportation for about US50.00 or so dollars.

Enjoy the trip!

i disagree. no good liquidator would close an airline down right before the most profitable season of the lot. if United is to go under, it will not be before September, so go ahead and book!
Where are you going?
