The article also mentions fares of Rs 35,000(about US $800) for India-USA. Is that off peak and only on likes of AI? Does anyone know?

more fundamental! is it one way or round trip. Can't believe my eyes that $800 can be round trip.

How will the arrival in Delhi time with connections onward to Chennai, Mumbai and Bangalore among others?

Isn't CO expected to fly EWR-BOM direct..or is it to DEL?
Quoting MAH4546 (Reply 9):
Originally, it was going to be Newark-Mumbai, and it was to launch in November 2004. It even had the same flight number (CO 82/83) as the Newark-Delhi service will have.
Quoting LAXDESI (Reply 10):
Do they have an aircraft which can fly EWR-BOM non-stop? The 777 ER that they plan to use for DEL may have difficulty making it to EWR from BOM on return.
Quoting MAH4546 (Reply 3):
Delhi will soon have non-stops to Chicago, Newark, and Toronto, but Mumbai will have no North American services, even though Mumbai is typically the stronger yielding market. I wonder who will be first with a USA/Canada-Mumbai non-stop. It don't think it is far off. Oh well, ye to hai.
