Thomas Cook Airlines - The "187" Seat B752s?

Tue Jun 07, 2005 7:49 pm

Hey,

I have just found out I will be flying on one of Thomas Cook's "187" seat configured B752s for my flight to Jerez (XRY) in August. Big grin

I was just hoping if anyone could tell me the registration's of these aircraft that have the "187" seat configuration?

Any help would be much appreciated!  Smile

Hey there,

The 187-seat aircraft are used on Atlantic routes from LGW/possibly MAN.

They are the latter in the G-FCL_ range, im sure G-FCLJ/K are configured, not too sure about G-FCLH/I.

Regards,
Tom

Shocking! A 187 seat 757 sounds partially civilized!

I flew on them last year from EDI-YYZ. Very nice, loads of room to stretch out. Hoping to fly on them again in September on the same route.

The 187 seat 757's are fantastic. I had the pleasure of flying CLH YYZ-BHX and CLK BHX-YYZ a few weeks back and let me tell you, what a comfortable aircraft. Leather seating, loads of leg room (and I'm 6'1") great inflight service, just make sure you bring along your pounds and pence for inflight headsets and drinks. Meals were great both ways and the cabin crew were fantastic both ways as well.

As shamrock has noted above, definately a 'civilzed' 757 compared to the 235 config sardine cans. Well done to Canadian Affair and Thomas Cook.

Cheers All

Interesting that they are using these upgraded 757's on some European flights now. I am on one of their 757-300's to Ibiza next month, 280 seats on that!!!

Actually, 35" legroom on any single-class airliner is extremely reasonable. You can actually stretch and cross your legs on such seating configuration, not to mention have seats with more recline!  bigthumbsup

Thanks for that, the 35" pitch sounds great and with leather seating too, these are going to be a great pair of flights!

We are going to Jerez, one of the most respected resorts in the whole of Spain, not Benidorm. Keep your comments to yourself in future, they are not welcome on my threads.

Shamrock_747, I know I prefer charter airlines due to the better onboard service given, and the atmosphere onboard charters compared to the likes of BA etc.

Why is this turning into a Charter Airline vs Scheduled Airline debate. All I asked was a simple question, there is no need for smart arses to add there comments.

Lots of people with different opinions I think. I think we would never find an answer to the Scheduled vs Charter debate, as so many people have so many opinions.

Ryanair, I saw some Pictures on-line of the Canadian Affair TCX 757 cabins, if only I could find them....

I'll report back when I do  Wink

The only two that i know of that in 187 config, or at least the two the i have delt with at MAN so far this summer have been G-FCLJ and G-FCLK. I work for SAS on check-in at MAN so let me know when you are flying out. These two aircraft are really nice on-board, the seat pitch is great, you can practically just walk down and seat onto your seat without having to squeeze across the row. The reason the operate on this route is because they have quite a bit of downtime between flights, so it comes in from YYZ, then operates to XRY and back, before hoping over to YYZ again in the late afternoon. They also operate to PMI as well. You will enjoy your flight, i always try and have a nosey on-board before boarding and they look really nice!  bigthumbsup

Alternatively you can experience 35-36 inch seat pitch on all AEU's 757's this Summer from LGW to JMK, FNA, VBS, SSH, CLY, DBV, DBB, TFS, OLB, TCP, BIA, PVK, HME, JTR, ACC, CDG, JIB, AHO, ACC, EFL, MJV, KLX, HER, and SZG!

Thanks for that Matt, I suppose one other reason is that TCX probably wouldn't be able to fill the "235" configured B752s on the XRY service.
