UA Gets WI-FI Approval From FAA

Wed Jun 08, 2005 5:29 am

United becomes the first domestic airline to get FAA approval that allows passengers to surf the internet while riding through the sky.

wireless internet access to its fleet in a partnership with Verizon Communications.

The Federal Aviation Administration will let United's parent, Illinois company UAL, install the cabin equipment necessary to provide wireless internet connection to passengers and crew members on U.S. domestic flights.

Does anyone know how long it will be before their intl flights will have the feature as well?
