Eagle: Next DFW Additions Today

Thu Jun 09, 2005 4:25 pm

Today marks the start of service for a good number of markets that are new to DFW. Not sure about other cities, but the TOL service will have a different kickoff. Water salute in TOL, there will also be a press conference held with a person from AA marketing and VP of Eagle (ORD?) Terry Hart, and the Port Authority is buying all the passengers on the first flight lunch.

Not a bad way to kick off new service that is already running 70% full. I'll be using it here in a few weeks and had just a few seats left on mine. Hopefully all markets do well and additional flights come quickly.  Smile

Good for MQ to see the launch of 18 new routes, but what I have to ask is: How many (and which) routes is MQ dropping to have the necessary aircraft?

Five. Boston-Richmond and Raleigh-Columbus ended yesterday. Dropped last month were Raleigh-Philadelphia, Raleigh-Providence, and Boston-Norfolk. Raleigh-St. Louis is also being dropped, but American Connection is taking it over.

Thanks for the quick reply Mark. BOS-ORF, gee, what a coincidence that DL only recently announced that route  Wink . Gotta wonder if (or rather when) DL will also announce BOS-RIC.

How are the LGA-ATL flights looking load wise? I know people were kinda shocked about this route considering that AA only has so many slots at LGA.

Not only is Eagle in LGA-ATL, AA MD-80s are doing it too. I've heard it should do well. Just like LGA-DTW, this route seems destined to stay.

Today is the start of the the summer schedules.

AA, NW, and CO switch to their busy season summer schedule which includes a number of new routes, upgraded equipment, and frequency changes.

The main reason Delta announced ORF-BOS is because American Eagle was the only carrier in the market. Their pull out left no non-stops on the route. US Airways Express, however, flies BOS-RIC.

ORF and RIC are not in the same MSA. ORF & PHF are, however.
Change is: one airline, six continents!
