Sky Team, One World - Why No Special Livery?

Fri Jun 10, 2005 4:56 am

Hi,
everyone knows that every member of the STAR has at least one a/c painted in the STAR livery, so why don't the others do this? I'd like to see what those liveries would look like!!!(better than the boring STAR hopefully...)
I came. I saw. I conquered

Well OneWorld can't produce a decent website or even a downloadable timetable, so don't hold out much hope for them painting an aircraft!

If skyteam could mix their logo with a cool wavy, liney, gradient-filled design like the Boeing livery, it would be very nice.

Not at all a fan of the Star Alliance planes. Very boring.

Star Alliance probably made their livery diborately boring so that it didn't look like any of the member's colors. I agree, though, I hate it.

In fact, I'm not so keen on the whole codeshare thing. I always have to research exactly who I'm flying with, which is a pain.
A good landing is one you can walk away from. A great landing is if the aircraft can be flown again.

Too true. If i want service from a certain airline because I like them and/or their equipment, i want it to be easy to make sure that's the product I'll be getting.

Its not that hard, when booking the iten. it will say for instance DL Flt, 6006 (Operated by Northwest Airlines)

I dont see a point in painting aircraft in alliance colour schemes. I would imagine most airlines would be more interested in thier own customer image, rather than an image of the alliance of which they are a member of. After all, to most people who dont take interest to the world of aviation, they probably wouldnt recognise an alliance in the first place!  Smile
this website may not be idiot proof, but at least it's dimwit resistant!.... lol :)

What more do u want, we have the ONEWORLD logo on every flt nearly of every carrier in it. Why advertise ALL over the plane, when one small livery at the frnt can be seen just as easy???
Where does the time go???

I'm not fond of the Star Alliance livery at all, and I'm happy the other alliances don't have that silly rule that their fleets have to have a few aircraft flying in full alliance colors.

What's this then?

"Plan your oneworld journey wherever you are - at home, in the office or even when you are travelling. The oneworld downloadable timetable provides quick and easy access to the latest flight schedules from oneworld's eight member airlines for times when you are not connected to the Internet."

so why don't the others do this?

Because it's an unnecessary waste of money.

Have to agree with Trekster. A small, tasteful logo upfront is more than acceptable!
