AF Flies A 772 To CCS On June 17th

Fri Jun 10, 2005 8:09 am

According to Amadeus and the AF website, flights AF460/AF461 on June 17th will be operated with a 772 and not the usual 744. As we had before 343 or 332, this is an event which may not be very frequent.
Maybe a maintenance issue with the 744 ? I am sure FlySSC will know more!

So if some spotters are interested, take note.

But this is a little concerning. After having comfortable 343 or 332, why AF has decided to send here only 744 or 772 (not comfortable. 3-4-3 or 3-3-3 config. in Eco), and without IFE in Eco for the 744 (CDG-CCS is a 9 hours 40 day flight).

This is interesting ...

will be especially interesting concerning the crew rotation. They have to get the pilots for the CCS-CDG return there on time to respect the schedule. But if they have put this into place a week in advance, they should be able to work things out "properly"!

Even on the cabin crew side, a certain number of crew must be "qualified" to fly on the 777. Although, with a cabin crew from the 744, that is probably do-able since the 744s use 16 cabin crew (still?) and the 777 uses 14.

Very good point, it will mean deadheading at least the pilots !

They did the same some time ago between 332 and 343, but as pilots have the double qualification (at least most of them) there was not such issue.

AF460 on June 16th will, indeed, be operated by a B772ER.

The Cockpit crew who will operate AF461 CCS-CDG on the 16th will arrive as PAX on the 15th.The crew who will bring the B772ER to CCS on the 16th will return as a PAX on AF461 (B744) on the 17th.

The Cabin crew is composed by 14 F/A on both B744/B777 on that line. Most of them are certified to fly the B744 and B777, well, enough to comply with the safety regulation ( a minimum of 9 have to be certified on the B744 and 6 on the B772ER).

Luisde8cd,

CCS is doing great with the B744. The loads are very good and the reservations forecast made AF to keep the B744 on the line during the next winter season.

On June 16th, a B772ER will be used for the flight, as one B744 is not available because it was leased for a special/charter flight.

I hope loads are not that good as I want to nonrev CCS-CDG the first week of August!  Wink B747 is the best chance as most seats.

Hopefully you'll get an opportunity to shoot the T7, Luis!
I wish that all skies were orange and blue!!
