No 777LR Flight Display At The Paris Air Show?

Fri Jun 17, 2005 4:48 am

Can somebody explain me why the 777LR is not doing a flight display at the Paris Air Show ? I'm going to the show this saturday and wanted to see it in action. I saw the program in the official website but no 777LR presentation is scheduled... why ?

From Le Bourget to Sydney and back? That would take too much time...

Why? It's not an all-new aircraft, nor is it a fighter doing aerobatics. It looks like a cross between a 777-200ER and 777-300ER, which everyone's already seen. It wouldn't be that spectacular.

Yes, I've seen a 772 fly a few times before.  Wink

Now you should count on the 787 flying in 2007, maybe with a 739x and 747Adv. Sounds far fetched, but from what I understand, the design work on both other models is basically complete, and the lines are up, so it's only a matter of engines and shear will to get all three flying in 2 years.

Do they have enough test pilots?

Boeing typically doesn't give flying displays at air shows, hence no flying display at this air show. I do think Boeing might change its mind once the 787 is rolled out and first flights have been completed succesfully.
