A380 Seen From Space

Fri Jun 17, 2005 9:21 pm

Have searched to see if this has already been posted, but to no avail, so here goes...

The BBC website has a picture of the A380 on the ground at Paris taken from an altitude of 450km.

It shows a comparison with the A340 just further along the taxi way.

Wow the wings are huge on the A380. I love both of the aircraft in that picture.
The taxi way looks like a cycle path compared to the A380. Big grin  Big grin

I'm still waiting for Airbus to do a side-b-yside comparison between the A380 and 747-400... Surely they can get one to be flown to TLS somehow..

Ac787,Indeed there are two 747's in the picture. one is a 747-100 in the le bourget museum (worth the extra 3 euro to go in),

Man that plane is huge. I guess I'm pretty anxious to get on a flight and be riding on one of them. With the delays Airbus has stated, which carrier will receive their A380 first?

Regards.

Wow...big friggen deal....apparently you can also see Cessnas from space. The top area of the A380 is not all that large compared to the A346, 773, 747 etc, its the fact that it has 2 full decks and also its width.

Seen from space....so?

It's a great picture, it gives us a real perspective on the size of the A380, the A346 looks deceptively small in that picture even though it's standing much further away.

Sorry for being a bit harsh in my prior post. The thread title made me think it was a 'its so big you can see it from space' post. It is a very cool picture and thanks for posting it.

Look at how they parked the 747 that is near the DC-10. It looks like the tail of the 747 is right over the wing of the DC-10. Surely they could of found a better parking space for that either one of those planes.
