LH used to fly FRA
1 x daily on various B737 equipment. Flight was due to be introduced late March 1992 but was put back to 1st July 1992 - for what reason I don't remember. Flight numbers were LH4112 inbound and LH4115 outbound. Flight operated for around 3 years or so. Flight was poorly timed for the business community (left GLA
1200 or so, arrived FRA
1500) but sustained pretty good loads - even saw some of the bigger B737's, A320's and a couple of A300's during the summer months. Believe it was scrapped due to cost cutting measures - they scaled it back to a Saturday/Sunday operation by II
(Business Air) on BAe 146 - the only reason it was Saturday/Sunday was due to the fact that the II
146 used to operate LH
3 x weekday service during the week. Then they scrapped it altogether.
Previous to that they flew GLA
during the 1970's - possibly with touchdown in MAN
There was also a GLA
(LH5563/LH5562 and LH5543/LH5542) service by former subsidiary DLT (now LH
Cityline) during the late 80's and early 90's which was operated by one of the Embraer Turboprops (don't remember which one) and towards the end a Fokker 50 - again sustained good loads but had poor timings.
commenced with 2 daily flights and a few years later was increased to 3 per day.
Cargo also used to have a B744F operation to/from PIK
