Need Info On This 747

Sat Jun 18, 2005 1:42 pm

Hi everyone,

I thought this aircraft was ZS-OOS, but after looking at the database, I realized that OOS crashed in LOS on November 2003, while the pic was taken on February 2004. Does anyone know the reg of this aircraft? Thank you in advance  Smile

There is no such thing as Boeing vs Airbus as the queen of the skies has three engines, winglets and the sweetest nose!

Since Hydro Air is on record as only having one 747 ever, which is ZS-OOS, my guess would be that the date on the photo is incorrect.

Don't really know what you are asking, but ZS-OOS was previous owned by El AL, as 4X-AXD, and delivered to Hydro in October of 2000.

I wish it were, it would make it easier, but the pic was definitely taken in Feb 2004.

I looked through the database, and it looks as though the plane was not completely destroyed, just written off. It was probably just sitting on the ramp waiting for its final destination when the photo was taken. Take a look at this photo:

I remember seeing photos of the Hydro Air accident in Lagos. The aircraft basically ran off the runway with partial gear collapse.
The aircraft obviously needed to be moved, and thus possibly was towed somehow over to the terminal ramp.
