I don't know about the Future. But Presently looks like they have more Aircraft & less Crew.
Hopefully their Strategy of getting Rail Pax to Fly works for Indian Aviation.
Your Profile says Airline project making as hobby & Homepage as www.airdeccan.net then why the question.

Personally I hope Air Deccan does well along with the other players.

I think they also have one ATR in an ad scheme for Sun Microsystems, and another A320 painted up in an NDTV scheme.

***********

IT HAS ITS IMPACT ....ok it may be on the ground for half an hour ..........but then by that time, a lot of passengers arriving and departing on the other flights will seee them and in the case of NDTV etc it is the target audience they want to see......

The purpose is attention ...... and even my little daughter now says the NDTV plane is flying today when she sees that particular one taking off in the morning from HYD (we live under the take off path)... Never mind the fact that it still hasnt swayed her to switch from Cartoon Network to NDTV!!! But then as I said .she is only five - so I think it will stay that way until NDTV launches its own cartoon channel!

At least two of Air Deccan's ATRs had Sun logo from day one - looks like a band-aid across the plane.

One interesting note: After the inaugural flight noise died down, when Air Deccan lined up their plane for second day of ops to Mangalore from Bangalore, they had to wait on the tarmac for hours as Bangalore ATC denied them permission for take off sighting an old law which prohibited advertisement on planes! So they had to hide this Sun logo. So when I flew them on fourth day they had this attrocious red color band-aid on top of Sun logo! I believe later Parliament passed legislation allowing advertisements on the plane.

Also the memorable inaugural flight from HYD on fire also gave Sun Microsystems good publicity  Smile. Photo courtesy:The Hindu

These AD’s on the aircrafts are just stickers and no paint work. Right? BTW how much revenue do advertisements bring on to airlines here in India? Also any rough estimation of costs related with advertising on aircrafts.

Any chance of Air Deccan, or any Indian low-cost airline, commencing service to both Leh (from Delhi) and Port Blair (from Kolcata or Chennai)? I believe that aircraft flying into Leh might have to be modified, but I am not too sure. If this is true, then this might well put off prospective airlines. Fares to Port Blair are, it would seem, prohibitively expensive, which might be explained, in part at least, by its location and distance from the Indian mainland.

traffic is highly seasonal for both , esp for Port Blair. Most of the islanders cannot afford to go by air and go by ship instead. During the tourist season, the loads are good (Oct to March), but in Monsoons, the load drops rather dramatically. Prt Blair is not a pretty place during the rains - I had been there and wished I hadn't! There is enough rain in Kerala to get stuck in!
Also quite a lot of the traffic ex portblair are discounted - student concession, old age concession, military concession, government concession..... not to speak of the Non revs!
