Need Help RE: European Air Travel And LCC's

Wed Jun 22, 2005 1:11 pm

A buddy of mine asked me to help him out. He is from the USA and is currently in Italy and needs to get from NAP to DUB for the U2 concert. His travel dates are June 25th and return on June 27th. I am also from the USA and I'm unfamiliar with European LCC's or the best way to find the lowest fare. Can anyone help me? How much would a flight like this cost?

thanks,

steve

Well he can fly on Easy Jet from NAP to STN and then take Ryan Air to DUB from STN. But looking at the U2 website he will be paying a lot of money. He should have purchased tickets ahead of time they tend to be cheaper.

Im sure there are other options, the only two airlines I could think of at the moment.

Take the train or bus to Rome and fly Ryanair from Rome to Dublin.

Otherwise you're looking at BA or AZ.

cheers

Go to this website: http://www.europebyair.com/eba/English_us/default.jsp

Click on the map on the right, a window will open. Point your mouse to the city you want to fly from and you can see where there are air services.

Alternatively, you may try:

http://www.cheapflights.co.uk/

or any of the LCCs listed here:

thanks for all the info. The best fare is $450 on Alitalia. I guess I thought it would be cheaper. Can you take a train from NAP to DUB?

Hmm, take U2 to see U2! No, you can't take a train all the way. You'd be able to get all the way to either Fishguard or Holyhead, then you've got the small matter of the Irish sea to cross. It would take over 24 hours just to do that.
