Per Diem Rates For Airline Crew

Wed Jun 22, 2005 3:31 pm

Hello flight crew, in terms of per diems at your airline, do these vary by location or is there a set rate? Are the rates uniform within an entire country? I assume that the airline arranges lodging for you etc, but how good is the per diem to fulfill your needs? Are these given in local currency, or always in a pre-determined currency (ie Euros, US$). What does it cover? Is it specific? Care to mention a few dollar amounts, and maybe airlines?

Also, what are the arrangements with your airline? Are you expected to eat at a specific location (where pre-arrangements are made) or is the captain of the crew expected to pick the tab and bill the airline?
