I'm sorry, I don't think I heard that correctly, what was that 777er???
Well, there ain't an awful lot to report really, principally because the idiots at check-in stuck me in an aisle seat, when windows were actually available; they were reserved, I found out later, for EK crew on leave.
Not bad though, the terminal's looking pretty glossy, they've put in a McD's and a Starbucks, and apparently a fellow Airliners.Net contributor (Avion) was around at the same time, off to ZRH. We were aboard A6-EKR (flown with it to MAN twice). Lots of great scenery in the early part of the flight (Iranian Desert/Zagros Mts.-study that for A-Level), Black sea, Turkey, Thessalonika in Northern Greece, (was chatting to the crew up front at that point) Croatia (Beautiful coastline) and then crappy weather over Europe blocks the view.
Both Crew were from OZ (there's a surprise
), the Captain was ex-Ansett 762, we were discussing my options with regards to learning to fly (University Air Squadron seems a good choice), then finish off whatever I need to do, to get a JAA PPL, probably in the States, although there ain't no drinking for under 21's, this is a problem for me
Well, we took some photos (the crew and I), and that was it really-I've done the same old route lots of times, so it gets a bit boring. I'm off to Riyadh with BA in June, hopefully in the jumpseat for T/O, and hopefully landing if I'm good (I'll bring some booze for the flightcrew), they should allow me to remain for landing.
By the way, the PPruNe gang are sorting out a Sim day, not sure where, but at a special rate of £75 for 1 hour (bargain considering it's usually £200), not sure about the aircraft type, if you're interested, log on to the Wannabes forum, and express you're interest there.
By the way, the weather here is the usual (as far as Shropshire is concerned anyway), so enjoy what you have left of in Bahrain.
