747SP Over Normandy

Fri Jun 24, 2005 1:56 am

Hi dear friends,

Yesterday at about 4Pm I was on the beach near "Le Mont saint Michel" in Normandy. When I'm on the beach I'm always looking at the sky when the weather in good and suddenly I saw a 747 SP coming from the east so from Paris or Zurich or Frankfurt ( the traditionnals) and going to north America.

I didn't have my binoculars with me so I was very sad because it was impossible to know what airline it was. The only thing I'm sure is the SP was white and very clean under the sun.

Can somebody give me some information please? Thank you very much.

best regards. DID747

Are you sure it wasn't the A380 on a test flight?
I scratch my head, therefore I am.

DID747... sorry, slightly off topic, but while in Normandy, did you happen to see the 29th Inf. Division Memorial? I can't remember what town it was in. I just like seeing pictures of that place.

Do you know what, I'm sure I saw a 747SP over St Albans here in the UK yesterday. Probably around midday-ish. That too was also white. I thought maybe IranAir. Hows that for co-incidence?

If it had some blue on it then either could have been the Syrian 747SP going to or from LHR. I saw it on the tarmac there the other week.

mont St Michel a bit unlikely but st. albans very possibly.
Just when I thought I could see light at the end of the tunnel, it was some B*****d with a torch bringing me more work

Not this week Cornish, it was a 320 tuesday and today (thursday).
When in doubt give it a clout
