Very Interesting!
Now if only a few things here in the US can happen then we could see US Airlines flying there. I know it would be a short hop!

I suspect that this could be a problem with Virgin USA.

How is the routing on this flight? is it via NAS? Or non-stop in both directions?

Although not scheduled, US airlines do fly to Havana and other points in Cuba.
American Airlines' affiliate American Eagle flies from MIA to Havana and other key cities in CUBA with their AT7's. Gulfstream Int'l does as well...

Back in the 90's when UA had a strong presence in MIA, they flew bigger jets down to HAV from MIA.

I flew a UA 757 from MIA to HAV and an AA Eagle ATR from SCU to MIA in 2003 and a TACA A-320 round trip from LAX to HAV in 2004. There's nothing like landing at HAV. Absolutely beautiful.

CNN earlier showed footage of the VS 747 arriving at HAV. There was your requisite flag waving by Richard Branson.
