Air Namibia - Bird-strike In FRA?

Tue Jun 28, 2005 5:42 pm

I got an information, that the MD-11 of Air Namibia had a bird-strike last week in Frankfurt? Does anybody have further info?

I think this aircraft had several incidents since last September!
Aircraft are marginal costs with wings.

Well it can´t be the same a/c since last sep. That would have been -NMC, which has been in ZRH at SR Technics for over a month (cabin reconfig/engine change).
-NMD (SW´s 2nd MD11) flew the WDH-FRA flights during the last weeks.

-NMC just flew back to FRA today.

...and NMD is reportedly due back with SR Technics tomorrow morning. I've already been wondering why it would be coming back after having been delivered just under a month ago - could indeed be an indication that this birdstrike actually occured.

Cheers, Lukas

It has been now reported that -NMD will go to ZRH for A-check and birdstrike repair ( http://www.aerpix.net ).
