SAA CEO - More Disturbing Allegations

Wed Jun 29, 2005 4:07 am

It looks like SAA chief Khaya Ngqula is in the soup again...reports in the Sunday Times this weekend suggest that he enjoyed a lavish holiday with the CEO of Jet Airways in December last year. The holiday took place three months after Ngqula's appointment and was just two weeks before negotiations started for the lease of the A340-300s which culminated in Jet Airways getting the aircraft for ZAR 110 million less than an offer from Sahara Airways.

The gravy train in South Africa is more efficient than the ICE in Germany....

Poor Khaya can't buy a break nowadays.

Although to be fair, Andre Viljoen is also getting a fair amount of stick in the media lately.

Poor Khaya? Try saying that to the 26 year SAA veteran I share my house with.

Mmmm.... the rot sets in. (or has it already?) What a great pity, such an excellent airline.

Apparently they are set to sue Andre, which should be quite soap opera-ish for us here at a.net.

As for Khaya (the name reminds me of something, but i can't remember what), well, looks like those investigative reporters from Ghana and Nigeria appear to have been unleashed in South Africa. We'll also find out if he has any illegitimate kids, if things go the way they have in ACC  Smile

First thing I always think of is "Khaya Car Hire"... present at most South African Airports... Big grin

I've said it before, I'll say it again - SAA finally needs a good management: kick all the idiots out now, poach (or borrow) good ones from other airlines (as has been done before) and get this great airline back in it's tracks.

I've sometimes wondered about how some management members of big companies here in Europe or the US conduct themselves, publicly living a lavish lifestyle off their respective companies while asking their employees to not only take a pay-cut but while also firing people...

Unfortunately, this club of people that badly represent their companies seems to have a very prominent member in Khaya...  Sad

Regards,
Frank

Just kick Khaya's ass, give him his golden handshake which was in the pipeline the day he started and put the COO (Kyrl Acton) in charge....at least he knows what an airline is!!!
