Why No Glare In 350?

Wed Jun 29, 2005 7:33 am

It seems the 350 has no GLARE in it. (Aluminium/Glass Fibre Composite).

Glare is used extensively on the 380.

Has a problem arisen with the use of GLARE on the 380?

Why do you think the 350 has no GLARE? I did not find anything about that on the Airbus webpage.

I've seen some diagrams in magazines purporting to show the various materials going into the 350. GLARE was not mentioned.

In addition I saw the same thing written in a newspaper article.
When I have a bit more time will dig them out.

Al-Li alloys are lighter and stronger than glare... they weren't ready for primetime use on the A380 but advances just over the past few years have brought them leaps and bounds ahead.
