The RJs are mostly used on weekends when the Airbus narrowbody fleet is used on charter flights from other airports. A way for bmi of gaining some money on charter flights whilst using aircraft more adapted to demand (lower on weekends on trunk business routes).

Is their enough demand for a possible LHR-BHX route, I would love to see direct services to LON from BHX again?
That route will never start. Both cities are too close and the train takes less than two hours and flying would actually take more time when you take into account the times needed between LHR
and downtown London. Only chance of seeing this route is if Bmi wish to increase feeding into LHR
but there again way easier to funnel people by train or have them drive to LHR
rather than flying a sector which will never be profitable and will use up both crew, aircraft and slots in a rather useless way.
