are these monitors like United's monitors in ORD? is there a pic of the monitors that DL uses in ATL?
No, the DL
monitors do a lot more than the UA
monitors in ORD
. The Monitors you refer to in ORD
, (the only other city they are used in to my knowledge is SFO
), simply provide information on the destination, flight number and all the good stuff you see at most airlines gate podiums. The Delta Monitors are overhead at the gate, (The flight numbers are usually displayed on an led sign at the podium) and they display information, about who is on the standby list, who is eligible for an upgrade, who has been cleared on the standby list, etc. Also what stage in the boarding process they are, and all sorts of other good stuff. I haven't flown delta much lately, but I have seen them in BOS
, even before moving to terminal A, CVG
, and ORD
, and I would bet money they have them in ATL
as well. I personally think the boarding process is too automated and I am more comfortable with a human voice on the pa system as it seems like automation can cause more problems than it solves.
