Routes For TG New Config B777

Fri Jul 01, 2005 11:38 am

I rang TG office and get the information about the flights. Apparently the new config B777 will fly to the following routes.

TG628 BKK-HKG-ICN Daily
TG657 ICN-BBK Daily

New Config

and

Old Config

Also when booking, the new config aircraft will be listed as 772 and 777 for the old config.

So if anyone will be in this aircraft or already 've been PLEASEEEE share the info THX !!

I think that you will also see these B772's sent to Australia.

It's been indicated by TG that as soon as they have enough of these aircraft, the current TG994/993 BKK-SYD-MEL-[HKT]-BKK service will be delinked.

There will be a dedicated non-stop MEL service and SYD service overnight back to BKK, as well as daily day service SYD-BKK and 5pw MEL-BKK.

The 5pw MEL-BKK is operated with an A346, but i wouldn't be surprised if they SYD-BKK day service becomes a B772, as AKL is now being delinked from that service, and a B744 may be too big for the sector.

Also, I was under the impression that TG was going to maintain 34 inch in Y in all the refurbs.

What does Pitch 31 CTR mean in the image link? Please don't tell me they are going for 31 inch pitch in Y!!

According to the seat plan, the seat pitch on Y will reduce from 33" to 31".. is that true?

It will be a great dissapointment if they really reduce the seat pitch.. as thats what make TG different from other airline..!! Also.. 31" seems to be pretty tight compare to most Asian airline standard of 32".

6thfreedom,
I would be very surprised to see the day SYD/BKK go to a 772. The current flight while it does carry some AKL originating passengers is primarily SYD originating and has extremely good loads. As for the SYD/AKL vv, that may well go in favour of a code share with NZ, but that is a victim of the over capacity on the route and the butchered yields.
As for the night flight, I can see that going to the 772, hopefully still routing through Phuket on a few of the flights, going to be a crap arrival time in BKK though.
Also I believe Melbourne is still getting the MD 11 for the day flights, only heard of the 346 going to AKL, on the direct flight.

Word from local TG staff is that HQ has done a backflip, and opting for AKL to get the upgraded MD11 on a non-stop basis.

If i remember correctly, it will be

BKK-AKL non-stop 6pw MD11
BKK-BNE non-stop, 3pw with B773
BKK-SYD 7pw B744
BKK-SYD-MEL-[hkt]-BKK, 7pw B744
BKK-MEL, 4pw A346 + 1pw B744.

TG think that with 60 J class MEL would offer better returns that AKL, which quite frankly I would have to agree with.

This will especially come in handy when SYD goes direct on the evening service.

With a 22.30 departure ex SYD, the direct BKK would get in at 0445 at the latest. Perhaps they could do this 4pw, and also have 3pw...

SYD 2230
HKT 0400
HKT 0515
BKK 0640

Going by these photos, it looks like it is HS-TMG.

Thanks, Magicalchaz for the info ! Very helpful with the code to track the schedules of this newly configured 777s.

It would be great to know more about the schedule of reconfiguration and as CX flyboy said, the registration as well.

Seat pitch will be reduced to 32", except for row 32 to 42 of the center section and row 51 to 59 of the left and right section will be reduced to 31"

The aircraft registration is HS-TJH. The reconfigured aircraft has been operated for a few days already.
