Drunk Passenger Removed From HPX Flight

Sun Jul 03, 2005 2:20 am

First time it's happened in a while....America West flight 6613 PDX-LAS was delayed due to a drunk passenger who made threats to "take over the plane and kill everyone on board". He was traveling with a companion who was visibly upset, unfortunately a drunk mistake will cost you these days. Isn't that a felony now?

Quoting HPRamper (Thread starter):

Don't know what your laws are over there, but here you can get taken to the local police station and get interrogated for that. They'll even put you in a cell for the night or so if they need to! Drunk passengers are a pain in the arse! They make life harder for the crew, can delay a flight, and put the other passengers at unease.
Not drinking, also isn't a solution!

This long 4th. of July holiday stretch seems to be booming business for airport police. Now, over the past few days, we did not have any juiced up passengers but, airport police got good workouts and passenger interaction. Due to shitty weather in Boston and Atlanta, many of our flights were delayed and some bit the dust (cancelled). In some ways, I can't blame passenger's frustrations. But, some stepped over that thin line when they spouted off threats and personal verbal assaults. That only got them a police escort off our concourse and probably out of the airport and didn't get them to their destination any faster or in their sorry ass cases not at all. This holiday season as with last Christmas has brought out a small nucleous of rude, stupid and churlish passengers. They come when the damn well please. Time to many of them is non existant. They arrive at the airport with hernia sized overweight bags stuffed like a bulemic fashion model on a food binge. BTW, rumor mill has it we are soon going to limit passenger checked bags to the industry standard 50 pounds down from 70. It is a shame that 25% of the passengers screw it up for the 75% that pay their money and treat us and each other the way they would want to be treated. Folks shit happens like bad weather which in turn incurs protracted flight delays. I've said it many times before; if we entered these blowhard's business, home or place of work acting just half as stupid, rude and churlish then we'd be carted off in handcuffs and leg irons either to jail or the loony tunes asylum. To these nare do wells, get a life or maybe a labotomy or maybe euthanized!
