The AFA has really backed themselves into a corner. Some/many of their members are unhappy with the way they have carried themselves over the years (ESOP, recent contract negotiations) and my mom was saying there was recently a small effort to get a new union.
So now they've decided they're going to get tough and fight for their members. But it's almost too little too late and about the only thing they can do at this point is huff and puff and threaten to blow the house down (aka "CHAOS").
The problem with THAT is, before they institute CHOAS, they'd better be DAMN sure the membership is going to follow suit or they're going to lose whatever shread of credibility they have left and management is going to serve their cajones on silver platters. And between the junior F/As who don't give a rat's ass about the seniors' pensions, and enough senior F/As who remember EA
and know CHAOS=chapter 7, the AFA has (wisely, IMHO) chosen to shut up this week rather than put up.
All that to say: haven't heard anything internally or externally so far and doubt we will.
