What Is The Longest Scheduled 757 Flight?

Tue Jul 05, 2005 7:01 pm

Over in another thread they're discussing the shortest scheduled 757 flight. Let's look at the opposite.

What is the longest scheduled 757 flight? For the 752? For the 753? Longest all-cargo flight? Longest passenger conbination flight?

Note:
when I say scheduled, I mean 5 times weekly or more, year round scheduled service flown by an IATA member airline. That means most "charters" would be excluded.

Well that kind of rules out some AA and CO on their BOS/EWR - UK services then since they change equipment and/or routes every few seasons.

YOu might find your answer here. http://www.airliners.net/discussions...general_aviation/read.main/1507862 though it's a year old - there may currently be longer routes.

Well that takes all the fun out of it doesn't it? They're always the most interesting ones!  Smile

Reading that other thread, I didn't realise that I'd been on one of the longer 752 flights! EWR-LIM at 3631mi / 7h45 which is less than a couple of hundred miles off the max range of the 752 (pax and bags).

MIA-SCL by Ladeco (before it merged into Lan Chile now LAN) with the 752 was one of the longest routes.

CO's new service out of EWR to Europe (especially the Hamburg, Berlin and Stockholm routes) test the limits of the 752's range, as well as the CLE-LGW service.

Also, several European charter carriers utilize the 752 on some rather long routes - while these are not scheduled flights per se, they operate on a regular basis during a time period (ie, every Tuesday and Friday from Novemeber thru April)......some flights from the Europe use the 752 to go to points in the Dominican Republic, for example, although many due make a fuel stop, especially on the westbound journey.

What about EWR-Hamburg, EWR-TXL, or EWR-ARN on CO?

How long is MAN to IAD? BMI flies it now. And they actually had to divert to Banger a few times this past week for fuel coming to IAD. Sorry, I'm too lazy to look it up.
