Boeing's Order Summary For 07/05/2005

Fri Jul 08, 2005 1:43 am

Interesting additions to Boeing's order page:

+ ET's 10 787 order is up

+CO's order for the 787 is there but for only 5! Perhaps the other 5 are on option due to contract issues with the F/A though I'm speculating.

+3 737s for Air Europa

+30 737s for a UFO customer.

+Noticed in the change column that there is a +1 777 for sometime. Who is this? Or should it read -1 for the UA cancellation?

+3 737s for Air Europa

I thought Air Europa purchased many more than just 3 at the Paris show... maybe I am confusing this someone else..

Still amazed at the 737 order book - 321!

Cheers!

Maybe Etiopian got CO's extra 5. ET ordered 5 initially but wanted another 5.

I don't think so. when ET placed their order they had 5 options which they exercised. I don't think CO gave ET their 5 firm and I don't think ET has any more options. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't think that CO giving up 5 production slots to ET should diminsh the number of firm orders that they put in. I certainly hope that CO still does order the 10 787s as they are going to need them when things pick up for them 3-4 years down the road.

From what others have said, the CO 5 that are missing are likely still being finalized and will be delivered a little later. After all, B can't deliver 10 787s to Boeing on one day.

As for the +1 777 being some kind of mistake for the -1 UA plane, no. No. B does not make mistakes on this order page. They are very careful to only post orders and changes that are 100% firm and check the facts rigorously.

You most certainly are on crack. If you don't have anything useful to say then don't post anything. Judging from you profile you certainly don't have anything useful to add to any discussion.

Yes, it's been quite a year for narrowbody sales. Airbus is around 400 with the Paris commitments.

You are correct, ET took all of their options before Pairs, a bare 3 months after the order for 5 firm and 5 options was originally placed.

Oustanding orders page, I must say. 417 and it is only July 5.  cloudnine

Interesting...assuming that CO firms their remaining 5 orders and that VN get's their 4 booked after US EXIM financing approvals, that leaves the following to be firmed for 787 sales:

AI - 20
Primaris - 20
Air China - 15
China Eastern - 15
China Southern - 10
Hainan - 8
Shanghai - 9
Xiamen - 3

Primaris who knows when that'll happen, AI is winding it's way through the upteen govt. boards, agencies and beauracracies, that leave the Chinese order for 60. Does anyone know when that approval and final firm order will be signed?

So as of the end of June Boeing has 417 firm orders
Airbus has 276 firm orders (according to their web site). That leaves a gap os 141. Way to go Boeing! Not bad at mid year!

There's likely a lot of government red tape on that one, and the US might need to know a lot more about these planes before it can okay it.

My guess is you won't see those orders officially booked until after the first assembled AC. But I could be wrong.

Primaris? I think they need to fly an actual scheduled flight first...  Wink

I doubt that the Primaris aircraft will ever be a firm order. They just dont seem that viable in my opinion.

It will be great to see the ther orders added before year end. A 600+ order year total of all airframes would be awesome!

Correct, it's been listed since April 19 like that. 2 ANA 773ER conversions less 1 UA 772ER cancellation. You should know better than to ask that one, considering you had the answer here months ago  Wink

I think he was asking if it should read -1, not +1, which of course, the answer is no. And you of course explained that it is, in fact, +1, as Boeing stated.

Other than not "writing off" orders, (15 year old real orders for planes that will never be delivered, for example), the Boeing order page is always accurate.

My question is-

What is the total production capacity of all manufacturing lines per month for Boeing and airbus.

How many 717, 737, 747, 767's can be produced in a month and what is the output for each type.
and same for airbus

I guess my question is- are they more limited by production rather than sales? Outside of dying breeds like the 717, it seems like they are always backlogged by quite some time. How many airlines are turned off by the fact that they have to wait 3 years to see an airplane they order? I would think that Boeing and Airbus would lead off narrowbodies by 2-6 months tops. When you are selling as many narrowbodies, I could see it as a HUGE advantage offering airlines a 2-6 month wait period.

Interesting how you judge people by looking at their profile - I'm wondering how your profile is any different...?  Confused

Btw, his question was justified. How do you know things will pick up for CO in 3-4 years?

Hi Atmx2000

Have you thought of it the other way round? It was reported in the Seattle P.I. that QR had "ordered" 10 787s for 2008 delivery prior to Le Bourget. Obviously these were refundable deposits as QR went with the A350 and 777 Series.

Perhaps CO got offered 5 of these delivery slots that QR no longer required and decided to take them? Assuming the Seattle P.I. report was correct.

Just a thought.
