Air Canada on Monday announced it would start a daily service between New Delhi and Toronto via Zurich from October 30.
The airline said the frequency of its existing direct flights, operating thrice a week, from Toronto would be transferred to the new service. In addition, Air Canada also plans an agreement with Swiss International Air Lines.
This will allow the Swiss airline, a future member of Star Alliance, to sell seats on Air Canada flights operating via Zurich on code-share basis, a statement from the Canadian airline said.
"By offering same-plane, one-stop service to India via Switzerland, Air Canada customers will benefit from an expanded choice of year-round daily flights to both Zurich and Delhi," said Ben Smith, vice president of Air Canada.
