3 Hours Of Air Emergency On NGC

Sun Jul 17, 2005 8:20 am

FYI: There will be three episodes of Air Emergency tonight on The National Geographic Channel beginning at 2000 hrs ET/PT

8:00 pm Ripped from the Cockpit "On June 10, 1990, the crew of British Airways Flight 111 faces a desperate situation when the plane's windshield pops off, sucking the pilot through the opening."

9:00 pm Flying on Empty "When a large commercial jet runs out of fuel, catastrophe often follows."

10:00 pm Deadly Delay "Avianca Flight 52 circles over New York City for 77 minutes before running out of gas and crashing into a Long Island hillside."
Oh how I miss Midway Airlines. A class act right to then end.

I watched all three. I do not recall hearing of the first two incidents. That the British Airways pilot survived that ordeal is miraculous.

I recall the Avianca incident, as I was living on Long Island at the time.

All I can say is--hat's off to those of you who ferry the rest of us around the skies. Your responsibility is immense. For that reason, I enjoy it when the crew are waiting in front of the flight deck as I am leaving the plane. I always make it a point to thank them for their work.

I gather that this will be about the Air Transat Glider as I like to call it???
