When Did AA Start Flying To Dublin From ORD?

Mon Jul 18, 2005 8:34 am

I couldn't find this on any search, but pardon if it has already been discussed.

My friend and I were looking for cheap ways to Europe for the winter today, and found AA nonstop from ORD - DUB which we QUICKLY booked. My question is, how long has AA been flying the nonstop route between Chicago and Dublin? Thanks in advance for the replies!

The service just started about a month ago and note that this a seasonal service that will be discontinued after the summer timetable. AA is also flying BOS-SNN this summer with a 752.

Wait, this is seasonal? Because we just booked tickets for Dec. 27 - Jan. 7. Thanks for the quick reply though.

I don't think it's seasonal.

The flight is not seasonal, it is year round. However, from October 30, 2005 until March 2, 2006, the ORD-DUB is being downgraded from daily to 5x weekly (will not operate Mondays or Wednesdays eastbound, Tuesdays or Thursdays westbound)

Gosh... I didn't even realize that they started that line. Is it all Economy Class like the Boston-Ireland flights?

AA has 757's with no J or F class? What about the rest of their fleet, 737/MD80's, any of those without premium service?

No, they just don't sell F-class on BOS-MAN and BOS-SNN.

It lets them get more economy passengers in a market with little F demand. The F seats are occupied by people who pay the higher coach fares and AA higher up frequent fliers. At the same time, they save money by not having to offer an F class product.

So you just get the F class seat but no F class service like free drinks and premium meal service?

Last I checked, AA still offered free alcohol on trans-atlantics (I may be wrong). The meal service is the same through the whole aircraft. BTW, the F-class seat is the typical domestic AA 757 F-class seat.

I apologize, I thought that AA's new service to Ireland was seasonal - my error.

I seen AA for the first time in DUB a while back and it was a great sight. Zach welcome to Ireland in advance and have a good time, don't forget to have a few drinks around Ireland.

Thanks Grimey. I have been all over Europe but never made it to Ireland. I've seen it several times from 30,000 feet and have always been amazed of its beauty and the fact that the color green goes on forever. I can only imagine how great it is on the ground!
