AS SFO-PVR On 7/20

Mon Jul 18, 2005 11:28 am

Can anyone tell me the reg# of the aircraft scheduled to fly SFO - PVR on 7/20 as flight 258? I'm taking a little vacation this week and was just curious.

Thanks in advance.

To early JF....message me the 19th and I'll let you know. When I get into work in the morning I can tell you what its scheduled for, but I can almost assure you it will change.

Are they still having a lot of mechanicals out of PVR? My sister in law is an F/A with AS and has been doing this route a lot this year. She has had a number of mechanical delays and cancellations at PVR with the MD80's. Curious if anyone knows if this has changed?

Planes...the MD80's have a reputation, yes! We are flying most 737's to PVR right now. The MD80 does the daily LAX turn. Both SFO flights are 734's. From what I hear , all of Mexico will be 737's soon. I think your sister just happens to be doing Mexico flights and getting the MD. She LAX based?

JF....N799AS is scheduled as of Monday morning. But that could change over night the night before.

Seattle based, but she might not have been on an MD on the most recent trip.

Thanks!

Hey thanks AS739X! If schedules don't change, my flight will be on Alaska's newest -400 of the fleet. But as you said before, it could change between now and then.

Hey Planes - The MD80's to PVR seem to be all out of LAX, where's SFO only has 737-400's scheduled to PVR. This is just my observation when I booked my flights.

Must be a more recent change. My SEA-PVR flight this spring was on an MD80, and I thought some of SFO flights were as well. Shows how much I keep on on things Sad.

Wow! That's quite a distance for an MD80. From SEA - PVR is 2200 nm.

The SEA-PVR flight was done by the Long-range A/C. We currently have about 5 long range MD's left. When I am at work I will post the reg #'s. The SEA-PVR was also flown by the -900 when payload required.

Jf...they actually make it with room to spare. The most most difficult part was the flightplan from SEA to California would have to be changed depending on loads for engine out requirements. Like I said I wouldn't look for a MD to Mexico much long. The company seems to want to keep them just up and down the coast and Dallas and Anchorage.
