The AC E75s Are Coming To BOS!

Thu Jul 21, 2005 3:42 am

I'm trying to book a trip through YYZ at the end of September and aircanada.com indicates that some BOS-YYZ segments will be flown by the E75! This is real cool! I can't wait to get on it!!!

Sure enough, the first 2 flight of the days using Sept. 15th show the E75.

I found it as early as Sep 10th. I'm so tempted to do a day-trip that weekend for the Hell of it!!!

I believe that Air Canada Jazz is now using their new CRJ-705s between YYZ and BOS (as well as one or two other US cities). These planes seat 10 in Executive (Business Class) and 65 in Hospitality (Economy). I am wondering if anyone has flown on these planes yet? I don't see any trip reports.

Yup, I'm booked on an E175 on a return from ORD at the end of August

You just have to play with their online timetable. The skeds are loaded for at least the next couple of months.

I just checked Sept 20th for example and there is 1 E175 and 1 CRJ705 flight that day.

Cool, something besides the normal CRJ-200.

Thanks,

That EMB-175 looks white. Is it the lighting?

Yes, and soon

They tend to substitute for either smaller or larger jets on the routes they are going on. The jets they replace then move on to other missions. On some routes, the Airbus will still handle the busiest flights of the day, but the other frequencies will be handled by either E-175s or CRJ-705s.

Right now it's pretty much CRJ-200 and the occasional A319s coming into PHL from YYZ and YUL. I love USX's EMB-170s, so it will be nice seeing AC's EMB-175s. How many do they have on order?

The aircarft is painted in the new colors, however because of the lighting conditions, it looks white.

Apart from the CRJs, I've only seen A319s between BOS-YYZ recently.

Based on the picture it almost seems as though every other row gets a window. Not good for the a.net crowd!

Just a note here, although the PTV's are installed, it is my understanding that they will not be operational until sometime in Autumn. Yes, that means manual demo.... heheheh

New interior: Looks great!

Other pics and an aricle on the plane can be found here:

This plane looks oh so great! AC seems to be on the right track now! However... I´m still confused as to what they intend their fleet to be... now that the boeing order has (at least for the time being) fallen through, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they intend their final fleet to be? I mean, I see they´re adding embraers, CRJ-705´s, and I´m confused... are they phasing out any model (AC or AC Jazz), or are these planes borught in just to grow the fleet? I hope someone can help me!  Smile

thanks!

The CRJ-705 are going to Jazz, they will retire some of their older Dash-8's I believe. The EMB are going to mainline and will be used for growth and to replace larger acft (320 family) on routes that are marginal performers for that acft type. (for example: YYZ-LGA has many flights per day, but AC doesn't fill a 320 or 319 on all of them, a EMB will be used on off peak times) There will be new routes announced and added frequencies as more acft arrive. Here is a link to the latest announcement about new routes.
