FOUND!old NWA, TWA, AirTran And AccessAir T-tables

Fri Jul 22, 2005 12:54 am

Well for the next two weeks I am forced to live with my parents, as the lease in my old apartment in Dubuque was up and my new one in Iowa City doesn't begin until the first of August. I was perusing through some of my shit and found all of my old timetables from the late 90's. I have:

TWA June 1 1998
TWA April 4 1999
NWA June 1 1998
NWA April 4 1999
AirTran August 1 1998
AirTran March 15 1999
AccessAir March 1 1999

I miss the old timetables :[ I think Southwest is the only one that still prints them (and they stopped for a whole period, and it was extremely inconvenient!)

but anywho, here are some notable "service improvements" From the 1998 TWA Timetable:

2 daily nonstops between STL and LGA
daily nonstops between JFK, BCN and LIS

and some local favorites for me from the 1999 TWA one:

5 daily mainline flights from MLI-STL (5!!!) and 5 express flights
8 total flights per day CID-STL, all mainline

also, in the 1999 NWA table, it lists Dubuque (DBQ) with 6 flights per day from MSP. Mesaba doesn't even serve DBQ anymore, and the last time they did they were down to 3 flights per day. At this time Dubuque had 6 Airlink, 6 Eagle and 4 United Express flights per day, now it's down to 4 Eagle Flights per day total. sad. :[

and of course you kids from the midwest can't forget AccessAir. The little airline that couldn't. Here is their schedule (it's so small i can put it on here)

DSM - LAX 2x, non stopfirst departure at 920am, second one at 135pm
DSM - PIA 1x, 600am-645am nonstop
DSM - MLI 1x, 510pm-545pm nonstop
PIA - LGA 1x, 700am-1000am nonstop
MLI - LGA 1x, 600pm-900pm non stop

they also have a 2 stop LGA-LAX (and vice versa) listed 2x (the two return flights from LGA going back through peoria/moline, des moines, and on to LAX). That "flight" leaves LGA at 645 and 1055am and gets into LAX at 1100am and 325pm, respectively. (the LAX-LGA flights leave at 1230am and 1145am and get in at 1000am and 900pm)

those were the days when you could still go past security and into the gates and watch the planes...*sigh*

MLI = Moline? Wasn't that route operated with DC9-30s? Scan some of those TWA timetables please!

Thanks!

Yes it was. Also operated a few 717s up there and at the end I believe it was all erj145s. SGF was the same way along with some ATRs in the mix.

Scan them in to your computer, and send them to Chris, the guru that owns http://www.airchive.com - all kinds of good stuff there, and he gets a lot of his things through donations.

An e-mail link is available at the website, and I have sent him some of my treasures as well!

Great find!!

"2 daily nonstops between St. Louis and LGW"

sorry, 2 stops between STL and Laguardia isn't very significant, haha
