Query On Flights From ARN To KRN

Fri Jul 22, 2005 6:21 am

Hello,

Hopefully someone can help with my query, particularly some of the Swedish members.

I shall be flying with Flynordic from Stockholm to Kiruna on August 14. During my flight research, I noticed that SAS offered the same route (for more money) with flight times varying from just over an hour to two hours 20 minutes. I'm assuming that the longer flight time includes a stopover somewhere.

My flight time with Flynordic is two hours 20 minutes, and am assuming that I'll get a stopover somewhere, but I can't work out where. The two cities I thought we might stop at were either Umea or Lulea, but when I checked Flynordic's departures to those cities, nothing coincided with the departure time of my flight to KRN. Also, it seems that you can't book a flight from either of those cities to KRN. Flynordic's website says nothing about any kind of stopover enroute.

Do you see my confusion?! If anyone could help with why my flight time is so long for such a short direct flight, I'd be very grateful. Not that it makes any difference to me, I'm just curious to know!

Many thanks in advance.

Andy.

hi Andy,
Your flight stops in Umeå UME.most flynordic fligths to KRN stop at UME,appart from flight LF571 which is direct.
Flynordic is a great airline , and you will have a nice flight.flight to KRN and UME are always full , and since Flynordic use free seating you better be at the gate early.Flynordic to Kiruna is at Terminal 4 at ARN, and be aware that check in lines can be somewhat enormeous at the time of your fligth since all flights seam to leave at that hour....LOL
enjoy your flight
I prefer to be crazy and happy rather than normal and bitter

Ah, that explains it then - thanks Flyboy_se.

Am looking forward to my Flynordic flight, and believe me, I will be at the front of that line so that I can get a seat at the front of that MD-80!

Thanks for the info.

Quoting Flyboy_se (Reply 1):

No, that flight does not make a stop in Umeå. It will make a stop in Östersund OSD. August 14 it's the first day and first flynordic flight to Östersund from ARN. From that date all flynordic flights to KRN will make a stop at OSD.

The SAS flight make a stopover at UME.

Well that's interesting, I've never even heard of Östersund - if I'd have known I may have broken my trip there and had a look around.

Thanks for the update Scanwing.
