From Travelbiz.com.au today, it sounds like old technology to me but perhaps no net connection before can stream TV channels?
SQ offers Live TV
Singapore Airline has become the first carrier to introduce live broadband television on international flights.
Customers can now watch live news broadcasts and sporting events on their wireless laptops with BBC World, EuroNews, Eurosportnews and CNBC.
The launch follows Singapore Airline¡¦s introduction of an onboard wireless Internet service in March this year through Connexion by Boeing.
There is no extra charge to watch live TV, other than for the Connexion by Boeing service.
Internet and live TV is currently available on services between Singapore and London and will later be introduced to selected long-haul flights.
In 2006 the airline plans to extend live television to customers¡¦ individual seat-back screens.
To celebrate the launch, Singapore Airlines is offering customers two weeks complimentary use of Connexion by Boeing from 20 July to 3 August 2005. Thereafter, normal charges will apply starting at USD14.95 for unlimited use.
