Mesa To Get E70 For UAX?

Sun Jul 24, 2005 1:47 pm

I don't know where this came from. I didn't know Mesa was using E70 for Mesa. But checking out the schedule from *Alliance, from 07SEP05 to 03OCT 05, Mesa will be flying the E70 RDU-IAD for flight 1844. Am I mistaken, or is Shuttle America the only E70 operator for UAX?

Mesa doesn't operate the 170 for UAL. However, I looked in apollo, and UA flight 7192 on those dates is indeed listed as a 170, and 7192 would be a mesa flight number. This is probably an oversight on someones part.

The only carrier that operates the 170 for UA is Chautauqua (or Republic, which is the parent company). To my knowledge, no one else is or plans to. Shuttle America only operates the Saab 340s out of IAD.

This is a very good find though and I think very intersting to say the least.

Or perhaps UAL is re-allocating the flight numbers...
Shuttle America is getting ERJ170s, to operate for UAL, see

God I hope not. United has already screwed up enough by adding more Mesa flying.

Republic Airways Holdings (Chautauqua parent) now owns Shuttle America and the UAL E170's are being transferred to the Shuttle America certificate. Shuttle America now operates both Saab 340s and the E170s. Shuttle America is the only company currently slated to operate the E170's for UAL.

It is probably a scheduling error on United's part. They either posted the wrong flight number or the equipment used. Mesa does not have any intentions of acquiring and operating any E170's any time soon for United or any other partner of theirs.
