Mexicana Incident This Weekend?

Tue Jul 26, 2005 1:05 am

I heard in the radio that a mexicana plane encountered heavy turbulence in a Mexico-bogota flight this week end. According to the radio speaker, 18 people were injured.

Any one can confirm?

I think I saw it covered in the news--err, in this site: Big grin

Don't expect to see me around that much (if at all) -- the contact link should still work, though.

"Buckle up for safety".

It's interesting how, on approach to the a/p, well after the "20 minute" announcement, 18 out of 120 pax (i.e., 15%) were still unbuckled... I guess those will never forget to fasten their seat belts ever again!

Yes, the problem was around 40 miles from Bogota, when the a/c found very bad weather and some "un-buckled" passengers jumped from their seats and had some injuries. 15 passengers were attended at the airport and other 3 were transported to a nearby hospital in Bogota.
