DC-9 Range

Sun Apr 30, 2000 2:50 pm

Hi folks!

I'm flying from my hometown of Fort McMurray, AB (YMM) to Quebec City in a few weeks. My return has me flying via YUL and YWG. I've noticed that my YUL-YWG flight is on a DC-9. The flight time is 3 hours... but I didn't know a DC-9 had that range.

Has anyone been on a DC-9 this long and, if so, how bad is it?

Thanks,
BLAKE

Depends upon the model DC9 you'll be on.

5 hours in an MD83 is a very very long time.

Longest for me now is 1+15.

Air Canada's DC-9-32's have the following range:
1,265 miles or 2 036 km.

I am assuming this is for a fully loaded aircraft.

My airline flys them BOS/MCI. 12?? miles. 3:30 block time gate to gate. This is about the extent of a DC9 range. By the way, it is a -32 28585lb fuel capacity.

Sure enough. Well at least I know that it won't run out of fuel! BTW it is a DC-9-32 with AC.

Thanks
