That's cool, congrats to Airbus! The A320 family really is a best-seller!

Let's hope it goes on and on! Cheers!

It seems unlikely it'll ever challenge the various versions of the 737 in raw numbers(*) but it has long ago passed the DC-9/MD-80 and 727 and is comfortably the second best-selling jet ever. Not bad for their first attempt at doing a narrowbody!

(*) But it's MUCH better looking than the 737!  duck

(*) And I'd MUCH rather fly on an A320 that a 737!!  duck

But hats off to both Boeing and Airbus. No-one can argue with the success of either the 737 or the A320!

Congratulations to Airbus, and all those A320 family operators!!!
It's a very good news: and 1.500 airplanes have been sold in 6 years!!!

If by June 2005, 3.600 A320 have been sold, how many A320 will be produced before the new generation arrives?

Agur,
Hegan

Great achievement for a great airplane. While I personally prefer MD 80s or 90s over a A320s and 737s (I love rear mounted engines), these airplanes really sell incredibly well.

IMHO the real interesting battle will start when Airbus and Boeing develop their respective A320 and 737 successors, but I have no doubts that both will be succesful designs.
