Since you're flying on FL
, you will be at Terminal D.
One can get from the D gates to any of the other terminal gates EXCEPT E & F without going through security again.
FYI, most of the PHL
spotters actually do most of their stuff along Hog Island Road, which is a perimeter road that runs along the southern end of the airport property. One will need a car to get to Hog Island Road, although one can utilize SEPTA bus Route 108 (which will only stop at UPS' facilities) but the bus will only stop at designated stops and only goes by Runway 9R
To get to Hog Island Road from PHL
, follow signs to Route 291 EAST. Once on 291, turn right at the Island Ave. traffic light (there's an Exxon station on your left).
Follow Island Ave. until it makes a bend to the left which becomes Enterprise Ave.; there is a STOP sign at the bend.
Follow Enterprise Ave. to the next STOP sign, and turn right onto Fort Mifflin Road; you will see several biz jets and an occasional charter planes parked near this intersection.
Continue along Fort Mifflin Road and you will pass through a tunnel. Once out of the tunnel and after passing an intersection on your left, you will be on Hog Island Road and will see planes usually landing.
Police issues have been a hit-or-miss as of late; it was worse a year or two ago. Usually if one parks on the OPPOSITE side of ther road with respect to where the airport fence is, you shouldn't have a problem. If you park alongside the AOA fence, a passing cop may ask you not to park there even though there are not signs posted.
Some have also spotted from any of the adjacent parking garages.
Here's another web-sitesite that might give you more PHL
-related information, it was created by another Philly A.netter.
