Airbus Double Trouble In Kaohsiung

Mon May 01, 2000 1:17 am

Today a Cathay A330 from Taipei to Hong Kong diverted into Kaohsiung after an inflight shutdown. A Dragonair flight also failed to leave after their aircraft went tech. Dragonair pax were given a hotel whereas Cathay sent a replacement aircraft for their passengers.

Rather a coincidence.

Fair point, I think. After all, the Cathay and Dragonair 330s are both RR powered and for them both to fail on the same day in (or near) the same airport is quite a coincidence - especially when the RR powered aircraft were grounded about 3 years ago. I'll bet the HK CAA will want a fairly detailed explanation of this!
