Asiana To Reduce Some Flights In Aug Due To Strike

Sat Jul 30, 2005 10:25 am

A strike by unionised pilots at Asiana Airlines goes nearly 2 weeks, and nobody knows when it will end, even though still negotiation is processing. Because now there are only about half of pilots available, Asiana will reduce or cancel some of flights in August even though the strike stops in the middle of Aug.

US
ICN/LAX/ICN : 12->7/w, OZ204/203, the night flight on 24567 will be canceled
ICN/NYC/ICN : 5->3/w, Sat/Sun will be canceled
ICN/SFO/ICN : 4->3/w, Thu will be canceled
Austraillia
ICN/SYD/ICN : 7->0/w, all canceled!!
SE asia
ICN/SIN/ICN : 7->5/w
ICN/BKK/ICN : 9->7/w, OZ743/744 will be canceled
PUS/BKK/PUS : 2->0/w
ICN/JKT/ICN : 3->0/w
China
CJU/PVG/CJU : 1->0/w
ICN/KWL/ICN :3->0/w
ICN/CKG/ICN : 2->0/w
Domestic
All domestic routes will be canceled. Except ICN-PUS(not GMP-PUS), and about 80% of Jeju island flights.

The pilot union says only 10% of loss which are generated by canceled flights is enough money to accept their requirements, but Asiana company does not yield for "more than money" requirements. Anyway, hope this war ends soon.
