Mexicana Comming To Fresno

Sat Jul 30, 2005 11:17 am

The city of Fresno has announced Mexicana Airlines will begin service out of Fresno Yosemite International Airport.

Mexicana Airlines will fly five times a week non-stop to and from Guadalajara and Mexico City.

"The demand is already here and the proposed service of five flights through Mexicana will be just the tip of the iceberg for the demand," said FYI Air Service Manager Patti Miller.

City leaders call it a tremendous victory for the Valley. With built-in demand for the flights, the airline says more than 140,000 tickets were bought by local travelers to Mexican destinations.

This is good because the San Joaquin valley has a large mexican population that is involved in agriculture and I would think they would visit family in mexico

Flights out of San Jose and San Fran are usually full and expensive. Could that have something to do with it.
