Canadian DC10 At YEG

It was the first time I've been to YEG since January. There's been so much construction going on since then.
Anyways, I saw a Canadian DC10 just standing on the ramp. I thought Canadian was getting rid of them? And I thought all of them were in VancouveR?

I was kind of thinking the same thing as you, when I saw those two DC-10s still sitting there last week. They've actually been sitting at YEG for at least two months! I did see a couple of CP DC-10s at YVR, too.

I was riding in the jumpseat on an AC DC-9 about a month ago and I asked the pilots what those DC-10s were doing just sitting there. Apparently, its cheaper to park those planes at YEG than at YVR.

There are also 3 Canadian DC-10's sitting on a taxiway at YXX(Abbotsford Intl.) I guess they are there until they find a new home. Does anybody have an idea who will use these planes next?

Being from the biz and all, Peagusis Aviation, the leasing Corp for the 3 holers, have had some talk's with a freight company down south, USA, or over east, Europe. But then there are so many rumours that we in the biz, hear alot. So take in what you want.

there is currently only 1 CP DC-10 residing on cheap real estate at YEG.

the 2 10's at YVR are parked on the south general aviation side.

CP is in talks with regards to disposing of several 10's which may be converted into freighters.
