Question About The Seats In The Emergency Exit Row

Tue May 02, 2000 6:30 am

I will soon be flying on my longest flight ever (ORD-ANC in 2 months)!!! We will be on Alaska Airlines 737-700!!! Our sears are in the row ahead of the emergency exit, and for some reason, I'm thinking that airlines put non-reclinable seats in this row!?!? I really don't want to fly 7.5 hours with a seat straight-up!!!

RE: Question About The Seats In The Emergency Exit Row

I have sat in emergency-exit row seats on an easyJet 737 and an Alitalia MD-80, and have found them both to be reclinable. They are nicely roomy versus other rows, but you will need to stow your cabin baggage in the overhead because you will not be allowed to have it at your feet. Actually on easyJet like on Southwestern there is no assigned seating, and the 737 was 3/4ths empty, so the cabin staff asked two of us to sit by the exits for safety purposes.

On AA, the IMMEDIATE seat in front of the exit row doesn't recline, not the entire row, just the window seat.
