Air Alliances In China

Sun Aug 07, 2005 10:51 pm

Now that CX and CA can recognise each other's ffps, does this mean BA, Finnair and IB passengers can get miles on CA domestic flights too?

Who is China Southern's partner? Is China Eastern left alone?

I think it would be fair to say that 12 months ago, the alliance future of chinese airlines looked set.

air china = star
china eastern = oneoworld
china southern = skyteam.

while CZ continues to focus on skyteam, and is likely to enter next year, the 10% shareholding on CX in CA has blurred the lines a little.

Just to be clear, none of BA, Finnair & IB FFP members could earn miles or points on Air China's flights regardless whether or not CA has an agreement to partner with CX at current stage.

Cheers.

Cathay Pacific Asia Miles can be earned on China Eastern (MU) flights.
