Servicing Of G-BNWH - Question?

Thu Aug 11, 2005 2:00 am

This aircraft, as I am aware, is the sole operator of the daily MAN-JFK (and return) service. So if it arrive in MAN @ 5am and depart back to JFK at 10am, where does it ever get serviced?

I've never seen another 767 on this route so just wondered how they fit it in on such an intensive schedule?

Any info would be appreciated.

For major servicing, the aircraft is positioned down to LHR, and another BA 767 is flown up from LHR to MAN to operate the JFK service.

Should the aircraft become unexpectedly unservicable, the JFK flight is usually cancelled or heavily delayed, as "spare" 767's are not too common!

For example, G-BNWU has been doing the MAN-JFK flights lately. This was replaced by the usual G-BNWH this morning which positioned in from LHR at 9am, and went out to JFK around 10am.

Likewise, do the MAN-JFK crews position in daily from LHR? I cant imagine BA would have a group of pilots based at MAN specifically for the JFK runs... would get a bit boring Big grin
