Transfer In IST

Mon Aug 15, 2005 8:18 pm

Will have to transfer in IST from TK international to TK domestic. How is IST? Domestic terminal is nearby I guess? Any good idea how to spend time?

There's a longish walk (maybe 20 minutes) between the international and domestic terminals. It's all indoors, undercover and well signposted, so you'll have no problems. I think the domestic terminal had better viewing opportunities than the international terminal, but it depends which gate you use. As an airport, IST is okay, nothing special, nothing bad.

The domestic terminal is the ex-international terminal at Ataturk Airport. New International terminal is great. I am sure you will like it.

After the passport control you will take your luggage and go to to arrival longue. Then you have to turn left. You will see a connection way to the domestic terminal. Unfortunately from domestic terminal you cannot see the planes or outside. May be you can spend time in a cafe..

Hope you willl like it.

Have a nice trip

Depends which gate you use. I can't remember which gate I used but you could certainly see a fair few planes from it.
