DL 764 Registrations

Tue Aug 16, 2005 10:12 am

One of those little details I have always wondered about. Why, after decades of DL plane registrations ending in DA or DL did they go with MH for the last 2 letters of the 767-400 fleet registrations?

I would think with all those L10s and 727s they retired, they could have drawn from those registrations, no?

The MH was a reg. Boeing placed on the aircraft when it was produced on the line. We never felt the need to change the regs.

Kind of disappointing they didn't keep up with tradition (but thanks for the reply).

Although it was just a rumor and non-founded....When Leo Mullin was CEO and we started taking delivery of the 767-400 it was being said it stood for "Mullin's Holding"....but completely untrue....

Though untrue, sounds totally believable. I wonder what Leo is up to now?

Probably sitting on the beach in front of his $16 Million Cape Cod home dreaming up new and creative ways to spend the Millions he took from the company after making sure his pension was bankruptcy proof in the name of retention, a year before he left.

This was in the news a few weeks ago ... talk about a golden parachute - where do I sign up for a package like that?

Utterly amazing (first that he got it, and second, that the DL board approved it)

I'll be right back I'm going to Cape Cod and stopping by the gun store to get a sniper rifle. No I'm just kidding. But I wish Leo stepped down sooner and possibly DL wouldn't be in as poor of a financial situation.

Just my two cents, but could "MH" stand for "Mainland & Hawaii" or "Mainland to Hawaii"?
"Flown every aircraft since the Wright Flyer" (guys, if you take this literally, then you need to get a life...)
