Virgin Atlantic's Aircraft Plans

Wed Aug 17, 2005 11:15 pm

Does anyone know what Virgin is planning for the future? I know about the A380 orders. Will they get rid of the 747-400s and have an all Airbus fleet?

In a nutshell the B744's will slowly be transferred from LHR as A346, (and eventually )A380's arrive, and used for expansion in leisure markets from LGW and MAN. At this time there is no better aircraft to fulfill this requirement and there is even talk of aquiring additional airframes should compatible ones become available on the second hand market.
